since 2001, I have worked to design and build inspiring homes, landscapes, structures and furniture.
a graduate of cal poly san luis obispo (b.Arch 1995), I initially worked for envelopment architecture in colorado and later marmol radziner & associates in los angeles.
in addition to residential homes, I also enjoy work on landscape and furniture design projects.
I think good design helps words, thoughts, feelings and dreams take form in the built world.
good design and construction takes into account that nothing can remain without a strong foundation.
inspiration and refinement work together toward good design.
good design should integrate the structure with the landscape in some way.
good design should understand its surroundings and reflect or accentuate that in some way.
good design should consider natural elements such as sun, wind and rain.
good design should perceive that materials change with time and exposure to the elements.
good design should make you feel something special even if you can’t always say what exactly it is.
I like imagining something that doesn’t yet exist, and then helping to make it happen.
